Studio Classes
Lara Visser and Jillian Goldberg both grew up in Cape Town, South Africa. While Jill attended Frank Joubert Art Center for her High School art elective, Lara attended Tygerberg Art Center. Both women recall those classes as the highlights of their school days and as the inspiration for their professional lives. The example of their working artist instructors, the atmosphere of passionate immersion in both studio art and academic art history, led them to seek out careers in art education and architecture respectively. Recently fate brought these two together in their new home town of Cary, North Carolina and although a generation apart, they decided to collaborate on a private arts education company. Currently they offer children’s drawing classes on weekends in Apex and consult to area preschools and elementary schools, offering after school art, summer camps and professional development for teachers. Lara and Jill share boundless enthusiasm for fine art and fine craft and enjoy the wealth of craftsmanship and art that North Carolina and the Triangle in particular, offers. Lara volunteers in her children’s schools and Jill is active in area arts organizations, senior center programs and adult continuing education programs. They both feel deeply blessed to call Cary home.
